NAHBS

The North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) was once again a great time.  With it being right here in Denver it made it very easy to get to.  The craftsmanship and creativity is always impressive.  It was fun to get to shot some of the bikes in the event, as it allowed me an up-close -nd-personal view of some of the bikes.

This English Cycles bikepacking bike was one of my favorites.  I think if Darth Vader rode a bike this would be it.

RUNNING WITH THE ADVENTURE DOGS

I often see people talking on cell phones when walking their dogs. They are basically ignoring their dog and missing a great opportunity to bond and witness the joy that dogs find in simple things like running. Dogs have an ability to jump into life with all fours and fully experience their surroundings. We should all be so carefree!

GREAT RIDE

I had a great ride this evening.  It was one of those rides where I was feeling no pain and it just felt good to go super hard ... and then go harder.  I haven't had a ride like this in at least a month and it felt great!  I was able to snap a couple of pics along the way with the sun setting behind the Flat Irons.

WEEKEND ADVENTURE PLANS

Well, it won't really be that much of an adventure. I'm taking the Fargo out on it's first organized ride ... a 92-mile Roubaix-style ride up in the mountains. It will be a mix of pavement and mostly gravel roads. I put a new chain on in preparation. There are a couple of reasons I enjoy putting a new chain on a bike. First, it means I have been riding, and that is always a rewarding feeling. Second, it makes the shifting so smooth a and quiet.
