PICTURE FOR THE DAY

Check!  I hope everyone has had a great week and you have been able to check a lot of things off of your to-do lists.  Happy Friday!

PICTURE FOR THE DAY

This young fox was rather inquisitive.  I sat and observed it, and its family, for quite some time out in Utah.

PICTURE FOR THE DAY

I thought since it's been rather cold and blustery we could all use a warm and calm image today.

THE FROSTY DERAILLEUR

That sounds like a good name for a brew.  Yesterday was a great day to ride to work and avoid the craptacular traffic.  I think it may have actually been faster than driving and it was definitely less frustrating!  I've decided I like to go my own pace, whether it's driving or riding.

NIGHT HIKE

I went on a brief hike last night and thought it would be fun to play with light.  I shot the above picture looking up towards the moon using my headlamp to light the yucca from above.  The streetlights were bright enough to cast some interesting shadows on the rock garden. The half-moon was bright enough to light up the view of Boulder and Flatirons in the distance.

LIGHTNING

MADISON

I can almost picture Spider Man swinging between these buildings.

PHOTOSHOP

My wife got me Photoshop Lightroom for Christmas this year!  It will make photo editing much better and allow me to "fix" pictures.  Above is the original picture.  You can see how the cabin is a bit dark.  Normal editing software would only allow me to brighten the entire picture which would washout the snow in the foreground, but Photoshop allows me to edit specific parts of the picture to allow for a more even brightness like the image below.  I'm really looking forward to a new year of photos!
