WEEKEND TRIP

I'm finally getting around to a post for our weekend adventure from a couple weeks ago.

After hunting for a campsite in the mountains we came across a wonderful spot with the Colorado Trail literally a stone's throw away.

We set up camp and made a fire that was dubbed the "chipmunk fire" due to its small size.  We didn't want to stay up late watching it, but we wanted a fire.

The Colorado Trail where we were camped seemed to be made more for hikers than bikers so we went up to the Monarch Crest Trail because we had heard good things.  We started off at Monarch Pass at about 11,000 ft and quickly climbed up to tree line.  The views were amazing everywhere we looked.

The trail was fast and flowy.

One of my favorite shots from the weekend.

 More riding above treeline.

On the way back we stopped by a little cemetery hoping for some interesting history.  While we were there the sky became very interesting.

RUNNING WITH THE ADVENTURE DOGS

I often see people talking on cell phones when walking their dogs. They are basically ignoring their dog and missing a great opportunity to bond and witness the joy that dogs find in simple things like running. Dogs have an ability to jump into life with all fours and fully experience their surroundings. We should all be so carefree!

GREAT RIDE

I had a great ride this evening.  It was one of those rides where I was feeling no pain and it just felt good to go super hard ... and then go harder.  I haven't had a ride like this in at least a month and it felt great!  I was able to snap a couple of pics along the way with the sun setting behind the Flat Irons.

TO WHET YOUR APPETITE

The sunrises in Tuscany were quite spectacular!
